While there are things about Russia that seem difficult, the arts are way beyond what most countries can or will do to support them. The Bolshoi is magnificent. And the performances look amazing too. My son was able to visit Russia almost 20 years ago. He said that Petrograd was the most beautiful place he had ever seen. <br /><br />With Russia, it's not just ballet, or music, or athletes, or writers, or painters.
